Establishing and strengthening collaboration among local stakeholders which include elected officials, parents, youth, schools, health professionals, youth or community serving agencies, faith communities, law enforcement, local businesses and municipalities who share the coalition’s mission

What we do:

  • Identify and share local data and statistics related to community health, the environment and associated behaviors;

  • Coordinate with surrounding counties such as Colusa and Yuba in order to facilitate collective impact;

  • Implement best practice strategies to support policies, systems and environmental changes that support the CATCH Your Breath Sutter County mission;

  • Identify substance abuse and behavioral health related problems in Sutter County; coordinate the efforts of other organizations in meeting the problems related to substance use;

  • Support other organizations by providing technical assistance and resources in order to achieve maximum effectiveness for their efforts;

  • Serve as advocates for all stakeholders of the coalition;

  • and promote and support safe communities as an element of healthy lifestyles.

 
 

What we’ve accomplished:

school traffic improvements

The Community Safety Committee worked with two elementary schools and the City of Yuba City last year to address and fix congestion during pick up and drop off at the two schools.

Corner Store Healthy Food improvements

As part of the Shop Healthy Here pilot project, the Healthy Retail Committee helped stores remove unhealthy marketing and replace it with healthy marketing of fruits and vegetables.
